Petition to unban the inocent who where tricked
I think there where many people who where gaven to or borrowed a duplicated item unkowingly and payed the ultimate price for something they thought was real... I want to start a petition to unban the few that where unrightfully banned....

They should I.P ban everyone, mostly you, in my opinion that is. I dont care if your friend "Lent you 3000 Armbrace" you deserve to be punished. So kiss goodbye your much money spent on all three games and move on to Neopets or something.

would someone be so kind as to lend out armbraces (which costs 400plat before the dupe) to people. Next time, (if u ever intend to spend money buying Gw again) ask the lender where he got them. Greed will be the death of people remember that

That's a horrid generalization, as I highly doubt you know the status of guilt on every person who was banned. When you do, you can talk like that.
Look, here's the case.
If you bought an armbrace or two, unknowingly, and got banned, there's no reason that you should not appeal your ban. Just keep trying.
If you bought a bunch of them cheap, or got a stack of one of your friends, your radar should have gone off, and I'm afraid you got what you reaped on that one. The illcity of those trades are a tad too obvious to forgive.
But since no one else but him can testify as to what he did and actually have all the facts, I suggest you stop flaming him. You present yourself as an idiot.

As far as I can tell, only the greedy/guilty ones have been hit by the bannings.

for your info Anet didnt ban those who bought a duped armbrace at the market price (like prolly 100K + 40ect)
they only banned those who bought duped armbraces cheap and many at once

Even my best of friends on guild wars wouldn't give me an Armbrace, and I don't expect them to. It's supposed to be PRESTIGE ITEM. I believe that the OP is simply trying to get people on his side, because what REALLY happened, is that his account was caught with 300 or so armbrace.
Everyone that was banned... SHOULD feel guilty. I admit, I was looking for cheap armbraces that day, but then I caught to my senses "Hey... I could get banned for this! I'm only buying for over 100k + 30ecto" they could have thought that too... I mean if you exploit something in an online game, your being watched... the other day in HA my group was 9/8 because apparently someone in the group (the one with full FoW armor) was an armbrace dealer. And what do you know... I add him to my friends list, and his names gone.
Anet is watching... thats all I'm saying.

Alright, here's the deal.
I'm not saying that everyone who deserved to be was banned, or that there were not innocent people banned. I'm also not jumping to his side.
What I'm saying is that people should not gerneralize and flame others for the sheer reason that they do not know the cicumstances leading to the ban. The posted OP may be guilty or innocent in his ban, but the fact is no one knows, so don't flame. If he was innocent, he should have his account back, if not, then no, he deserves to be banned.
HOWEVER. There were innocent people that were banned. That was proven by some recent ban lifts and some testimony of players. Now, Anet did a good job, don't get me wrong, but it's not infallible.
Oh, and Triel, for YOUR information, a friend of mine who I know in real life was banned in the scenario you describe. He's appealing now, just to correct you on that.

Everyone who didn't dupe should be unbanned.
OP: Did you try to appeal though a support ticket? If you are innocent, or at least can convice Anet that you are, you should get your account back.

So? Buying things way cheap isn't a bannable offense.
Unless you mean that he duped them himself, in which case he deserves what he got.

If there was proof of the fact that he was caught red handed, then yes, he should be banned. All I'm saying is not to gernealize for the people who's situations are not as clear as his.

Petitions arent the allpowerfull tool to get things done. Especially about things people dont really care bout cos its not their problem.
If you have a problem with the recent bans, explain it to Anet, telling them why you think you dont deserve the ban. If you really dont deserve it, they will unban you. If not they prob present you with their proof of u breaking the UA willingly. And dont come with this crap 'ou, someone offered me a gazillion platinum for something worth a few k's but didnt bother to ask how he got that'.
Oh and the OP, why dont u tell us why u dont deserve the ban. If the story was not in the OP, you prob are ashamed to tell it...

I only have one boxer short
Cain, you just said what I was going to say. No need for petitions here. Innocent people will see their ban lifted if they submit a case. Submitting that case will be done to Anet directly, not through any board/forum.
Coming here to ask for sympathy after the words of Anet that innocent people have nothing to fear is useless.

hm i think some innocent ppl have been banned too.
I have helped a duperdude (1st i didnt know he was one) with finding asian minis for him, and he gave me some armbraces for finding them (total 20).
He had 100 armbraces at first, and i just thought he was an ebayer.
i found some minis for him, and he gave me some armbraces as reward.
I sold the armbraces, i sold about 6 to one guy for cheap, now he is banned for having those braces.
I didnt know they were duped, the guy i sold them to didnt know it either.
I am not banned, but he is, and he's innocent, he just bought 6 armbraces for 50e each.
Anet fails :/
